On the Slingshot the early prototype pictures showed a nice factory heat shield over the exhaust manifold, however all of the cars we have seen do not have it when delivered. Since the stock exhaust manifold is cast iron, it will surface rust and not look as good. So we tracked down the part number for the Originalexhaust heat shield from GM and made it available here. We have been installing them to add a little heat protection under the hood and also a little dress up in the engine bay.
This simple heat shield bolts into a stock bolt locations on the exhaust manifold with hardware that we supply. Installation is straight forward with just 3 bolts to install.
Package includes -
1 - GM Heat Shield - 12633413
3 - M6 stainless steel bolts
3 - M6 large stainless steel washers

Review
The manifold heat shield I had cut off an eighth of an inch off the left corner to allow the holes to line up. Looks better than the bare exhaust and will hopefully cool down the passenger side a bit.
