The Jackson Racing supercharger is a great way to add some power to your Miata, and makes it drive like it should have come from the factory. However, the supercharger intake is not the best design. The Originalintake pulls hot air close to your exhaust header, up to 30 degrees hotter than ambient, decreasing the air available for the supercharger and lowering the power the supercharger can make. Our intake encloses a new foam pod filter inside a stainless steel enclosure that gets fed plenty of cool air from behind the drivers side headlight. This drops your intake temps up to 30 degrees and pressurizes the intake tract leading to the supercharger, helping to maximize the power your supercharger can make. An extra benefit to our filter assembly is that it takes only a few seconds to remove the pod filter for routine cleaning. Give your supercharged Miata the intake it should have come with.

DDMworks CAI for JRM45 Review
My 2000NB had a stock Jackson Racing rectangular air filter installed when I purchased it last fall. With the OEM JR air filter only inches away from my stock exhaust manifold and supercharger, I was looking for a better alternative and decided to try the one offered by DDMWorks. The kit itself is a quality product that easily installs in about an hour and the stainless assembly looks great under the hood. My biggest surprise came when I took the unit out for a maiden test drive and mashed the loud pedal and noticed a definite increase in acceleration. I just wasn't expecting the extra kick and it actually caught me off guard a bit. My performance expectations were tempered by numerous posts suggesting most cold air intake systems don't add much power and actually may reduce power. I suspect most of the added power came from switching from the stock 2.5" diameter air filter inlet to a 3" diameter air inlet on the DDMworks unit. I will admit that the stock filter was not recently serviced (looked clean) and may have restricted airflow. I went on an extended hard drive to monitor the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) and noticed that the temp stayed within 5 degrees F of the outside air temperatures. Should be noted that was on a mid-western spring day. Summing up, the DDMworks CAI for the JRM45 looks good, is easy to install and offers a surprising performance gain from stock.
