DDMWorks R55/56/57 Cooper Intake! This Cold Air Intake will fit all the Gen 2 cars like the R55 Cooper Clubman, the R56 Cooper, & the R57 Cooper Convertible. This intake is made from high strength steel that is precision laser cut to exact measurements to make it fit every time, and finished with a durable powdercoated finish. The intake is then assembled with the highest quality stainless steel hardware and topped off with the best free flowing air filter to get the most air possible. Testing of the intake showed and impressive 8ft/lbs of torque gain, but more impressive is the throttle response and the deep throaty sound to make your cooper sound really aggressive.

Fits: Non S, 2007+ Gen 2 cars, like the R55 Cooper Clubman, the R56 Cooper, & the R57 Cooper Convertible.
Black powder coat finish, looks great and powder coat helps protect from rust!
Comes with free flowing, pre-oiled, re-usable air filter. This filter can be cleaned and re-oiled for up to 100,000 miles of use!

Great sounds with no change in performance.

I have a 2009 MINI Cooper Clubman (R55). It puts out 118 horsepower. No bolt-on mod is seriously going to change that. No tune, no exhaust, no cold-air intake. If you're looking at this product for your non-S mini, you need to come to terms with that. But if you're looking to change your vacuum-like sounding engine to an aggressive growl, this intake may be for you. Packaging: Comes in one big box. Intake housing + K&N air filter (pre-oiled) + Assorted screws, nuts, bolts, etc. The intake comes with the lid already attached. My only complaint here is that the lid is seriously bolted on there and took a lot of force to get some of the bolts off. Installation time: 30-45 min if you know what you're doing. 1-3 hours if this is your first mod or first time changing an intake. Installation: Straightforward if you follow the instructions. However, the instructions don't provide any pictures, and if you're not 100% familiar with the terminology then it might be somewhat difficult. However, DDMWorks support is fantastic. I had no hold time and was immediately connected with a DDMWorks representative (Dave) who knew the part and my car very well. Advice: Here are some things the instructions don't make clear. - IMPORTANT: Disconnect the battery before doing any of this work. - The instructions say to take off the air flow sensor before removing the entire air intake. However, the underside torx bolt on the air flow sensor is insanely hard to reach while the stock intake is still in the car. Just loosen the hose clamp on the air flow sensor, then take out the entire intake, THEN you can unbolt the stock air flow sensor because you'll need it. My one issue: So to screw in the new housing, they provide you with two 3/4in course-threaded screws. However, these screws were much too long and could not be screwed down all the way to secure the intake housing. I had to go to my local hardware store and buy two 1/2in screws. Sound: This intake definitely sounds great. The stock one is a low vacuum-like sound that only growls a little bit at 4-5k rpm. This one really growls at 2.5-4.5k rpm. It's loud, it's aggressive, it's fun. You can hear it best at low speeds (10-30mph). Overall: Is it worth $259? If you're looking for speed, no. If you're looking for a first mod to make your MINI sound more aggressive, absolutely. I don't regret my purchase at all, and despite the installation hiccups, I had fun.
